A new vision for a familiar place.
NOSTRA was born from a simple belief: the best hospitality isn't just about food or drink—it's about creating places people genuinely want to return to.
Places that become part of everyday life.
Places where morning coffees turn into familiar routines, where after-work drinks become long evenings, and where life's biggest celebrations are shared with the people who matter most.
Places that quietly become ours.
For more than a decade, this building has been part of Homerton's story. Many of you knew it as Hatch—a place for coffee, creativity, weddings, birthdays, exhibitions and countless celebrations. Like the best neighbourhood spaces, it evolved with the people who filled it, becoming part of everyday life for many in the local community.
I was fortunate enough to become part of that story too, managing the venue during its final three years. It was here that I learned what truly makes a hospitality venue special. It isn't the furniture, the lighting or even the menu.
It's how people feel when they walk through the door.
When the opportunity came to take on the venue, it didn't feel like starting from scratch. It felt like continuing a story I already cared deeply about.
The space has been completely reimagined.
The interiors have changed. The layout has changed. The experience has evolved.
But one thing was never meant to change.
The spirit of hospitality.
NOSTRA—Italian for ours—is more than a name. It's a philosophy.
We believe places become meaningful because of the people who fill them. Every conversation, every celebration, every collaboration and every memory adds another layer to their story.
That's why NOSTRA isn't built around one fixed concept.
It's designed to evolve.
By day, MONELLA is our neighbourhood café—a playful daytime space serving thoughtfully sourced coffee, fresh baking and seasonal food.
As evening arrives, NOSTRA transforms for Aperitivo Summer, bringing together Mediterranean-inspired small plates, carefully crafted cocktails, great wine, music and long evenings that rarely end when you expect them to.
Throughout the year, the venue also hosts weddings, celebrations, private events, creative productions and cultural programming. As the seasons change, so will NOSTRA, welcoming guest chefs, residencies and collaborations that continue to shape the identity of the space.
Some things will always change.
The people.
The menus.
The music.
The ideas.
That's exactly how we want it.
Because whatever happens here becomes part of NOSTRA.
Whether you're joining us for your morning coffee, your first date, a Wednesday aperitivo, your wedding day or simply somewhere to spend time with friends, we hope this becomes a place you return to for years to come.
These walls have plenty of stories to tell—and thankfully, most of them stay within these walls.
